Gyokuro
Dew drop. A true, Japanese green tea variety. It grows in
the region Shizuoka on the slopes of the Fudschijama. Gyokuro a tea
plucked during the first harvesting period at the beginning of May and
one of the finest premium teas which is reserved for special occasions.
Distinctiveness:
The plants are covered with straw mats approximately 14 days before the
harvest. Due to this, the plants produce more chlorophyll and the
tannin content is reduced, the leaves become a dark green colour. The
taste is very fine and mild with a sweet note.
Taste: very fine and mild with a sweet note and little acid.
