Sencha
Sencha
is one of the most known green tea varieties. Originally drunken by
buddhistic monchs as a medicine or spiritualisation, sencha represents
a source of inspiration, concentration and vitality today. Sencha means
boiled tea. Sen = boil and Cha = tea. Characteristical for this tea is
its long, folded leaf. During the processing, while the tea is dried on
warm mats, it is folded or polished by hand. After the infusion, the
full leaf structure can be seen again. The Sencha production is an
often applied production method in China and Japan.
