The tea makers from the Hatidubi Tea Factory located in the Golagath District have surprised us with a very well turned out experiment: perhaps Assam’s first real smoky tea! Fu Soonga is a very popular Assamese type of cooking for which young, green bamboo canes are filled with yoghurt or other foods and then prepared over the open flame or on hot plates. Fu means to blow and Soonga means cane. The tea maker’s idea was to blow smoke from wild timber through these bamboo canes on the tea leaves during their production. The result definitely must be tried: a smooth and aromatic Assam with light, well-balanced notes of smoky nuances.
A blend to swoon over! Light, fluffy cake notes are underlined lovingly by delicate flavors of nuts. Fruity fig quarters and bright red pomegranate arils add summertime freshness to this creation, which is rounded off harmoniously by sweet blackberry leaves.
A refreshing summer treat where sunripened, tangy citrus fruits meet delightfully tart rhubarb. Our Pu-Erh is “down-to-earth”, but still offers plenty of room for a cheerful summer party.
This well-known garden was founded in 1886 and is also called “Silbung” in the local language. Selimbong is well known for second flush production of prime quality tea´s and has also been awarded many prizes. We have chosen a wonderful quality from the second plucking period which is reflected in the leaf and the taste: a completely even and dark Sinensis leaf with lots of silvery white tips, a shining copper-colored cup, and a taste that is aromatic and spicy, with a soft, flowery flavor!
Fresh, tangy and light as a sea breeze, typical aloe vera notes harmonise with the taste of apple and a little citrus. The moss-green apple spirulina crunchy and the dried daisies blend wonderfully into the green tea base. Bright white pieces of aloe vera and delicate yellow marigold blossoms complete the picture.
