In the Tigania region, not far from Mount Kenya, this beautiful purple tea is produced at an altitude of 1,700 - 2,000 m. The light purple color of the wiry leaf with a few tips is not the result of production, but of the use of a very special tea plant, which is said to have its origins in Yunnan. Its anthocyanin content provides the characteristic coloring - a substance that is also found in blueberries and raspberries. The tea itself also has complex, fruity flavors of plums and red berries. The light purple-colored infusion can be turned into a bright pink by adding lemon juice.
